The Kawai Piano Company was founded in 1927 by Koichi Kawai, in Hamamatsu, Japan. After Yamaha, Kawai holds the position of the second largest piano manufacturer in Japan. When Shigeru Kawai, son of Koichi, took over the management of the company, the first Concert Series instruments were produced and the brand began gaining recognition.
The Tone of the Kawai can be classified as “mellow” or “warm” and is a contrasting alternative to Yamaha piano. The question often arises, “which is better, Yamaha or Kawai?” and there is no right or wrong answer. They are both comparable in quality and the tone/touch must be about personal preference.
In the Gulf region Newfound Pianos has been offering quality reconditioned, and sometimes new, Kawai pianos for many years. From your K-series Upright to the RX or GX Grands, we may have the model you are pricing. Conact Us for more information.
